Growing up in Auckland, NZ, Anna began skiing at age 4 but only moved to slopestyle skiing fairly late in the game at age 19. Coming from a sporting family (her father is an Olympic sailing coach and brother on his way to competing in the 2016 Olympic games) Anna took to the sport straight away and has risen exponentially.
In her first year competing internationally, Anna competed in 6 world cups and claimed 3rd place in the 2013 World Cup final in Spain. Anna also joined the New Zealand Olympic team, competing in the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi as well as claiming 3rd at the NZ Freeski Open slopestyle. This was all just two years after she started in the discipline.
After an injury ended her 2014/2015 Northern winter season early, Anna spent a lot of time in recovery in order to be back competing by the end of 2015. 2016 has already been massive for Anna with 2 world cup competitions in Korea and Switzerland, her first major events since her injury.
When she’s not skiing Anna loves to surf to get away from the mountains for a bit, usually ending up in Bali. Otherwise Anna is gyming and trampolining to build her strength for the snow season.
With a career only just building momentum, Anna says she "can't wait to show everyone what I can do with more years under my belt!" With her eyes set firmly on the 2018 Winter Olympics, Anna is determined to get as much experience in before she gets there. As a freeskiier so new to the sport Anna has demonstrated that it’s never too late to succeed in something that you love.
