Darren Kelly unveils new Nissan R35 GT-R drift machine
After a long two years ilabbfamily member Darren Kelly and Nissan NZ have finally unveiled the new factory backed Nissan R35 GT-R drift machine.
Easily the most-anticipated build in recent Demon Energy D1NZ history, Darren Kelly’s Nissan R35 is finally ready to get sideways! The extensive 15-month build has resulted in one serious piece of custom machinery.
We can’t wait to see Darren out shredding next season!
Take a technical tour and check out everything you need to know about what’s in and under the hood of the R35 beast below.
Darren had this to say after the unveiling last week:
Huge thanks to all the sponsors, family and friends who came to the official unveiling of the R35 last night. After 2 years of building this thing and trying to make it an amazing machine I'm super stoked to finally be able to show everyone and to have Manufacture backing from @nissan is a dream come true (still not sure if I'm dreaming or not) Big thanks to everyone for all the messages, tags, posts, comments, texts and emails, I'm trying to get through them all so apologies for some delayed responses. Some huge things still to come so keep your eyes pealed and get ready to see this thing sideways! Again a huge thank you to all my sponsors, friends, family, Brendon, Mum and Russel and fiancé @hayls03 For putting up with our lives revolving around Motorsport. The endless amount of work from @tttautoengineering to produce some of the most amazing fab work to really make this car what it is, can't thank those guys enough. It's been a very long and hard road and honestly has been one of the hardest things I've ever done but to see it at this point has made it all worth it. #dreambig and never give up ✌
