FMX: Sherwood and Franklin kick it in front of a home crowd

2 years ago No comments

The 2016 Big Boys Toys event has rolled out to central NZ after beginning in Auckland a few weeks ago.

ilabb’ s international FMX riders Levi Sherwood and Nick Franklin hit the Central Districts (Palmerston North) installation of the event over the weekend to show off their tricks to a hometown crowd.

Both riders hail from the area and base their practise at the world class FMX and BMX facility Franklin Farm in Tokoroa (run by Nick Franklin himself).

Big Boys Toys has only travelled to Central Districts for 2 years now and has proved its popularity with most of the best exhibits travelling New Zealand rather than them being restricted to Auckland.

Levi was stoked to be riding indoors at the Central Energy Trust Arena in Palmerston North that made for controlled conditions with no wind or rain. This meant the boys could show their skills at their fullest potential.

The crowds were impressed with the stunts that the riders could pull off and that they were able to see some epic riding that people don’t normally get to see.

It’s always good to see the NZ FMX scene get some epic opportunities to showcase their talents at a home event. Hopefully this inspires the next generation of gravity defying super shredders to send it just like Nick and Levi.
