With the third round of Formula drift Japan taking place at Fuji International Speedway a track which boasts one of the longest straights in motorsport, drivers were able to push the limits of both their cars and driving abilities resulting in some high speed action at the iconic setting.

Due to a tight format at Fuji, drivers only had two practice sessions before qualifying putting the pressure on both Mike and his pit crew to tune the MADBUL RX7 to perfection. Battling hot track conditions, and running low boost Mike made an aggressive run at his second qualifying lap scoring an 85 comfortably pushing him through to the top 16.

Coming in to the final 16 with full boost Mike through down a confident run to claim the win against Kuniaki Takahashi, advancing him throught to the Top 8. As rain started to fall Mike edged out Yoshichika Tamagawa in order to find his way into the top four.

The rain continued to pour down making track conditions became extremely difficult. With the main focus keeping the RX7 on the track Mike had to take a more conservative run eventually being eliminated by Masashi Yokoi. With an overall 4th place finish both Mad Mike and his team deserve a massive shoutout for battling the prestigious Fuji track and walking away with a top 4 finish. Marking the halfway point through the season we can’t wait to see some more door to door sideways action YEEEEOW!
