MADBUL was first awakened more than a decade ago and was ‘Mad’ Mike Whiddett’s first drift car, the one that set his name in stone in the international drift scene. Now in it’s 7th generation, travelled the world, touched many walls, and had Mike at the top of many podiums including winning Formula DRIFT Asia.
“It was my first time ever in America and we had MADBUL there which had just been built. It was a little threatening, it’s a big country and there’s all these massive teams, there’s Ford racing, Mopar and just American muscle and we’ve got this little Japanese rice cooker rotary that’s screaming, but the fans just loved it. I have a personal connection to this car, it’s #1”
The new Gen 7.3 MABDUL, (receiving its name because it’s half RX3 and half RX7) features a newly grafted 12A front nose cone on the 92 FD RX7, Savana badges down on the rear corners and original fender hockey stick mirrors. It also boasts a custom Rocket Bunny kit that joins the 70’s era RX3 to the 90’s RX7 through an old school Mazda racing theme. When it came to the wheels, Mike opted for the holy grail with Rotiform rolling a matt anthracite centre, candy black lips and anodized candy red hardware.
“We’ve had some awesome results in MADBUL and tackled some insane roads. Conquer the Crown was by far one of the biggest highlights of my career in MADBUL, pushing it at speeds it had never done before was the first time that I really felt fear.”
