Ilabbfamily drift legend Mad Mike Whiddett makes it back to back wins this year in Formula Drift Japan as he takes the win at the epic Ebisu Circuit.

Some patchy weather lead to an interesting qualification round, especially after some fog set in, luckily the visibility was okay for drivers but not as great for the judges! The track continued to dry out over the morning and on Mikes first afternoon run he managed a solid 95 which put him in pole position going into the battles.

Finals day Mike continued to put on a dominating performance and performed flawlessly much to the crowds delight. After cruising through and beating out Daisuke Hara in top 32, Kazuya lizuka in top 16, Koishi Yamashita in top 8 and Takatoshi Imamaeda in top 4, the final battle was an Australasian one as Mike lined up against Australian Nic Wilson.

Mike pulled through with the win once again making him the top runner for the 2018 season. We can’t wait to see what he puts on next!

Keep it locked here on the EDIT as Mike looks to the next round – round 3 at Fiji Speedway on the 27th July yeeeeow!!
