Sissons helps to bring home bronze
Yeeeow our very own ilabbfamily shredder Ryan Sissons competed at the 2018 Commonwealth Games over the last month and although he didn’t quite get the result he wanted for his individual race, highest of fives to him and the team for bringing home bronze in the mixed team triathlon relay!
In the end it was seven seconds and running shoes that broke NZ triathlon's 12-year medal drought, with the Canadians close. Many stating that if Sissons and Reid had not worn running shoes it may have been a different story. Not wearing clip-ins meant that coming off the bike, they were able to save precious and seconds and get straight into the run.
The team was made up of Ryan Sissons, Andrea Hewitt, Tayler Reid and Nicole van der Kaay.
Sissons individual result consisted of an epic 5th in the mens individual triathlon. He charged home late in the run leg and put it all on the line to finish in the top 5 even through the less than ideal race conditions.
Highest of fives to all the athletes for bringing it home yeeeow!
