Tracey Hannah takes the top podium step at Fort William UCI
An epic weekend all round for the ilabbfamily who showed up to Fort William, once again putting on a Downhill race like no other. Filled to the brim of drama and not without a few cruel twists of fate just to keep things interesting. It was a day that began with disappointment for some, ended in celebration for others, and was nail-biting every second in between; the record sized crowds definitely got their money's worth.
For the elite women’s final, the race quickly became a free for all sprint to the finish line as the unbeaten Rachel Atherton suffered a dislocated shoulder during her final training run. ilabbfamily speed demon Tracey Hannah dominated in Rachel's absence, where most of the women struggled in the muddy woods, Tracey was able to avoid getting stuck in the mud and extended her margin of victory to a massive ten seconds!
Rain and the track conditions played a massive role in the results for the elite men’s racing, with many competitors having flashbacks to the weather conditions at Lourdes. High fives to Mick Hannah to finished out in the top 10, and ups to Brook Macdonald and Alex Fayolle who both managed to finish the race in one piece after both recovered their runs after huge crashes.
The ilabbfamily riders will now try and fit in some short lived rest and recovery time before they get ready to shred Crankworx in Les Gets, France yeeeow! Check out the epic video edit of the weekend below!
